What is your leader readiness potential?

The reason transformational leadership is the most effective statistically is because all true leaders know their past experiences are useful but not what will have them be most effective in new leadership situations.

It’s a human being given by a set of distinctions or network of conversations that allow for a leader to naturally show up and deal powerfully and creatively with new people and situations.

Leadership is leading people to think and take action from the future that inspires them and feeds self-expression.  At Leaders Team, we are calling for a new kind of leader that lives true to what they profess throughout their whole life at home and at work. I was recently talking to one of the leaders that we coach about how the leader of today does not have a separate private life and a public life, but they bring their whole self to their entire life. For example, it doesn’t work to say you are a person of integrity at work, then not be that person in your home life as well.

Leaders understand they must live authentically in all aspects of their lives. After all, if you are being true to who you say you are, wouldn’t you be?

We all have one unique and precious life.  Wouldn’t you as a leader be most fulfilled in empowering people to be their best expression of themselves and to perform and create achievement from this empowering place. To succeed in this endeavor requires a certain foundation or set of distinctions of who you are going to be.

Critically important is to find a way to deal with your relationship with yourself and with other people. Many business owners who are growing a business ultimately have to deal with how they relate to the people they are leading. Successful business owners usually have some technical talent that got them to where they are and at some point they need to deal with who they are as a leader.

Great leaders learn to look at themselves. Some experienced leaders argue, “Why do I need to work on my growth and development as I am successful financially?” Financial success doesn’t make a business owner a better leader, it simply makes them more financially successful.

Great leaders lead from the heart. They truly care about their people and co-creating a future. Great leaders rely on imagination and listening to the hopes and dreams of their people along with what doesn’t work and their complaints. It is not just about taking people’s complaints away but dealing with diverse perspectives as a contribution to forwarding the vision you all have together.
